Waikiki Holiday Activities

December is a very festive month to visit Waikiki. Throughout the month, the area is dressed up for the holidays and there are several fun events to enjoy. From parades to an island-themed Christmas market, you’ll find plenty to enjoy in Honolulu over the holidays. We hope to see you then!

  • Holiday City Lights | Dec 3-31

    Beginning with a tree lighting ceremony and Christmas parade on December 3rd, enjoy Hawaii’s very best holiday event with building-sized Christmas decorations at Honolulu Hale throughout December. Starting with an enormous Shaka-throwing Santa and even bigger Christmas tree, weave through the city’s hall of Christmas trees and oversized holiday decorations dotting the adjacent park.

  • Festival of Lights Christmas Boat Parade | Dec 10th

    Nothing says “island Christmas” quite like celebrating on the sea! Hawaii Kai’s annual boat parade is a beloved tradition for visitors and locals alike.

  • Mele Kalikimaka Marketplace | Dec 10-11

    Honolulu’s expo hall opens to an island-themed Christmas marketplace all weekend long. Find unique and local-made gifts, snag a picture with Santa, and visit over 100 vendors at the Neal Blaisdell Expo Hall at 777 Ward Ave.

  • Waikiki Christmas Store | Year Round

    Open all year round, the Waikiki Christmas Store is nestled right on the Kalakaua Ave. strip by the Moana Surfrider. A personal favorite for holiday gifts and trinkets, this cute little boutique has everything imaginable for your holiday season.

  • Ala Moana Shopping Center | December

    The world’s largest outdoor mall goes all-out for the holidays each year, with plentiful photo-ops along its 4 levels and multiple wings. Take a stroll past hundreds of shops and restaurants to enjoy its several Christmas trees and plentiful decorations.
